Our African experience was astounding!

We can sum up our African experience very simply: It was astounding! Our journey to Tanzania was easily the best trip of any kind our family has ever taken. Dave was absolutely a master guide, teacher, host, and friend as well. Cheddy (as we called him) was wonderful as well. Every location was amazing. There is nothing about the trip that we didn’t completely love, except for the fact that it had to end!

Again, we cannot emphasize enough how spectacular the trip was in every way, and how grateful we are to Dave, Chediel, you, Gillian, and all the wonderful people who took such great care of us in Africa!

Serengeti Safari Camp - wouldn't change a thing

[Nomad Guide] Phillip met us and was very professional and charming. Our safari back to Camp taught us wonderful things, while we sat and witnessed our first wildebeest river crossing.  The camp was incredibly authentic.  We loved all of it...everything we perfect!  Everything was above our expectations. The service was impeccable. The staff were always very attentive...  I wouldn’t change a thing. We experienced both safari breakfast and a beautiful picnic lunch in the most stunning setting... Babu was our camp star who paid attention to every detail.

Our stay in the Selous was simply awesome

Dear Tom and Danielle

Finally back in NZ and feeling the cold.

It was a fantastic holiday and the balance of our trip went too quickly but all to plan. The Ngorongoro Crater, Serengeti and Zanzibar adventures were stunning - almost as good as Nomad Kiba Point...!

Anne said to tell you that the Leopard was the highlight of the trip. You guys made our stay in the Selous simply awesome.

A truly unbelievable trip...

First and foremost a huge thank you to you and all at Hartleys! We had a truly unbelievable trip. Everything we had hoped for and so much more. Thank you for all of your hard work and organisation which ensured everything ran like clockwork.

The itinerary we had was a wonderful mix. Lake Manyara really eased us into things before heading to the wild of the Serengeti and Lamai. We were then able to unwind with total relaxation in Zanzibar. Our Nomad guides, Sylvanus (Lake Manyara) and Emanuelle (Serengeti) were amazing – so enthusiastic and amazing eyes for spotting animals, we felt in very safe hands with them both. Two stand out highlights were seeing a leopard feeding on a warthog in a tree and elephants mating, both in the Serengeti. Special thanks also to Sylvanus who helped us retrieve our luggage after Precision Air failed to transfer it from Nairobi to Kilimanjaro initially. It turned up 48 hours later at our lodge.

All the lodges were great. The combination of luxury in Escarpment Lodge followed by the truly wild feel to Lamai was a great combination. The Residence in Zanzibar was also out of this world!
