What a fantastic place!. We had an amazing time there. Bas and Suzanne were the perfect hosts. They made us feel so welcome and almost as if we were part of a large family group. We dined together every night and their attention to detail is just spot on and yet the atmosphere is very casual - not easy to do but they certainly have done it. The food was wonderful - the best we have ever experienced on safari.
The staff were fantastic too, friendly, engaging and so attentive. There was one young lad called Reuben who entertained us every day. He was so passionate about his Massai life but also so enthusiastic about his job with the camp. We think he will go far. We had brilliant safaris with a guide called Godwin. He was extremely knowledgeable and great fun to be with. The location of the camp is so well though out.
From a distance you cannot see the buildings - they blend so well in to the natural environment. The view from the room is spectacular.
We wish you every luck with the camp. We would have no hesitation in recommending to anyone as the perfect spot - one of the best places we have ever visited.

Lamai Serengeti on Trip Advisor
“safari paradise”
Reviewed November 24, 2011
NEW
The location is amazing and so are the views: you can see for miles
across the serengeti from your room, the restaurant and the pool and
you'll feel like you have it all to yourself. The place has been
designed beautifully - understated luxury that blends in with the
natural surroundings. The food is like that you'd get at a high class
restaurant, only lighter (and all the better for it). All the staff are
brilliant and seem to take pride in doing their jobs really well. For us
the most perfect place you could stay for a safari, especially if like
us you're lucky enough to be there during the migrations.

Serengeti Safari Camp - blew us away
The safari experience
totally blew us away. I will never look at camping in the same way again!!!
To be woken up every morning, with fresh coffee and to be able to sit outside our tent and watch the sunrise with zebra and wildebeest wandering by was truly magical. The location of the camp was just brilliant - we felt that we were right in the midst of it all. And we truly were as one morning we woke up to a family of Elephants trooping through the staff quarters and a young male lion wondering near the main camp!
The staff were fantastic and treated us like royalty! We felt totally spoilt and pampered from the moment we arrived. The thing I was most surprised about the food, it was absolutely amazing! I was totally in awe of the meals they managed to knock up in the camp, it put my cooking to shame!
Rem our guide was fantastic, so knowledgeable and interesting... and just a great guy in general. Really chatty and friendly but also would gave us plenty of time to ourselves too which made the whole thing a really relaxing experience.

We had a marvelous time
My wife and I recently stayed at your Loliondo, Serengeti, and Sand
River Camps. We had a marvelous time. I write only to thank you and your staff.
Festo Msoffe was a wonderful, witty, and very knowledgeable guide. Veanay (sp?)
at Sand River was also a very good guide and companion.

One of our best trips ever
Just wanted to send you a brief thank you note after the
wonderful vacation we had with you couple of weeks ago... Me and my wife,
Marta, spent 9 fantastic days at Serengeti Moving camp [Serengeti Safari Camp], Lamai Serengeti, and
Gibbs Farm. We really had a fantastic time… perhaps one of our best trips ever!
This thank you goes to the entire Nomad team, very specially
to:
- Our guides: Jacob, Alex and Jairo – their professionalism
and knowledge was quite remarkable! Particularly, we were very impressed by the
knowledge, intelligence, and human qualities or Alex…
- The teams at Nomad's lodges: Klaus and Jills at Lamai
Serengeti – fantastic hosts! Also the entire team at Serengeti Moving Camp
–
really nice guys all of them!
Thank you very much, and looking forward repeating with you
guys in the near future!!

Definitely recommending Nomad
I have to say that Rem [guide] really made our trip. He
did everything possible to make sure that the experience was truly
memorable. A very knowledgable guide, great fun and and a genuinely
terrific guy.
The itinerary turned out to be exactly what I was
looking for, the combination of Grumeti and Lamai was perfect.
The tented safari camps were really superb with
amazing locations, and the staff were all both very friendly and highly
professional. The Lamai setting is truly spectacular and I’m sure the
lodge will go from strength to strength.
The one thing that also deserves a special mention is
the food. The meals, right down to the choice of wine were fantastic.
I’ll definitely be recommending Nomad to anyone I know
who is interested in doing an East African safari, and I hope to book another
trip with you in the not too distant future.
Many thanks for all your help.
Kinds regards

All in all a great safari
Difficult to know where to begin but certainly another magical experience! All 3 camps were superb and to end up at Greystoke was as good as any beach holiday with the added bonus of 3 magical days with the chimps.
I think the highlight was the chimpanzees, made all the better for having to make an effort to get to see them. ( Makes it more rewarding) . We were amazed at their size and the human traits they exhibited even at one point having a mother bring her baby towards us to clearly show her off!
A mass of wonderful bird life (we are becoming twitchers with all these visits!)
Hundreds of Hippos and crocs trying to compete for water in Katavi
Great food in all camps
Great staff / knowledgeable guides / excellent accommodation.
All in all another great safari leaving us wanting more and just as keen to return as soon as we can!

Nomad - superb all the way round
Nomads was superb all the way round. The camps were fantastic and the mix of mobile tents and small permanent camps was perfect for our family.
We loved the game in the Western corridor - and the camp, staff and food was outstanding. It really set the tone for what was to come.
Lamai was an unexpected treat! What an amazing location tucked into the kopje. We were really pampered with the beautiful suites, sundowners looking over the Mara plains and dinner under the stars. Oh, and the pool! Truly decadent… Susanne and Bas were wonderful hosts.
Katavi was an adventure! Hippos in camp on the way to dinner the first night, only to be repeated each of our four nights there (along with many elephants) and a few hyenas. Game viewing was awesome (crocs, hippos, leopard, lion and tons of birds). Claus and Jill made us feel like family. Although we had Chediel as our private guide, the Nomad guides were great as well. Special thanks to Gabriel, Mohammad (Moody) and Paul. Top notch, all of them.
Mahale was like no place on earth. The setting is spectacular. Lake Tanganyika was an oasis. Wonderful swimming, snorkeling and kayaking. The camp and facilities were world class – there could not be a finer location for a sundowner bar in Africa than Mahale! We saw plenty of chimps, hiked to the waterfall for a refreshing late afternoon swim, took the dhow for a sunset cruise and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Paul and Lala were fantastic. They were great hosts and their local knowledge of the chimps, birds and Africa in general added so much to our visit. Special thanks to Robert who was our Nomads guide. He was great.
Chediel (“Chedi”), the private guide arranged for us, was a huge contribution to our overall experience. Chedi was so knowledgeable about everything from animals to birds to local culture to geology. We spent 12 days with him (from early morning game drives, to flights across Tanzania, to sundowner time and dinner). He was simply outstanding. We learned so much from him and truly enjoyed his company every day. All the Nomads guides looked up to him as a legend. He was really great.
